Population

In a general manner, this service allows the public authorities to find out the “administrative identify” of citizens and to communicate with them.

This identity is not just determined according to civil status registration but also by less formal circumstances like the choice of domicile, obtaining a driving licence, etc.

Identity cards only mention essential information relating to the identity of the citizen concerned as defined above (in particular their name, first names, nationality, etc.). Citizens must on occasion produce official documents that refer to information that is not shown on an identity card (for example driving licence, passport, household composition, criminal record certificate, etc.).

The town of Seraing lets you order various documents on-line. You just need to click on the link on-line ordering of administrative documents. Warning! For technical reasons, the on-line document ordering service is temporarily out of service

The document is sent to your home within a few days if it is free, or on receipt of your payment if the document is stamped.

You can receive your document immediately by visiting the service in person during its working hours. For certificates that must be paid for, the service has documentary stamps available.

Change of domicile

If you are moving within Seraing or moving to Seraing from another Belgian commune You must declare your new address to the population service as quickly as possible. Cost: 2.50 €. Subsequently, a police enquiry will be carried out in order to verify this declaration. TEN WORKING DAYS after a visit from a local police officer, you should (...)
